Welcome to Procrastination Central!

Ask me anything   I'm Ana from Miami, Florida. My interests are varied and too numerous to list. My posts speak for themselves, though sometimes I post things I want my closest friends to see. I sometimes posts little tidbits about my life along with some occasional photos I take.

Your bottled water habit is sucking California dry

If you’re reading this, chances are very high that your home has at least one — and maybe more! — magic appliance that produces clean water suitable for drinking. That’s one reason to avoid paying for bottled water.

Another reason? There’s a good chance the water you’re buying at the supermarket was bottled in California, a state currently enduring a severe drought.

Turn on the tap instead Follow micdotcom

EVERYONE PLEASE AT LEAST TAKE A QUICK SECOND TO LOOK AT THIS

BECAUSE IT IS EFFECTING THE EXACT AREA I LIVE IN

Lots of people believe bottled water is safer and cleaner than tap water, when in reality there’s no evidence proving such a thing.

Penn & Teller’s Bullshit!: Bottled Water segment, gives a very good and thorough summary of the bottled water culture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHx6BX3HZJc

You want better water? Buy a Zero filter. SRSLY. Stop buying bottled if possible. You need water with you? Get reusable acrylic or glass water bottles (wrapped in a silicon sleeve) and fill it up from your filter pitcher. SAVE MONEY, SAVE MY STATE

I understood and got most of these. I don’t know if that’s such a good thing.

Read”If Slogans Were Honest, This Is How They Would Be” and see what I mean.

The new take on Barack Obama’s iconic 2008 poster replaces “HOPE” with “SOLD,” and features “Honest Politician” Gil Fulbright — a satirical Senate candidate created by advocacy organization Represent.Us to draw attention to the corrupting influence of Money in American politics.

“You deserve complete honesty, so here it is: I don’t care about you.” said Fulbright in a recent campaign video. “Unless you are a donor or a lobbyist who can write a big, fat check, the result that you get from voting for me is negligible”

The HOPE-SOLD is the latest work of street artist Shepard Fairey - a parody of his own most well-known work.
The project reflects a growing sense cynicism and betrayal felt by voters — progressive and conservative — about the corrupting influence of money in elections and politics. “Our goal is to transform the frustration felt by voters into a powerful movement to actually fix our broken government” said Represent.Us director Josh Silver.
